EMS Week Press Release

Please join me in thanking all Emergency Medical Services personnel who serve in Southbury for their great work! Sunday May 21st – Saturday May 27th 2023 is recognized as National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. The 2023 theme “Where Emergency Care Begins” is a simple and profound summary of the service provided by EMS 24/7 365 days. Emergency medical care begins with Heritage Village and Southbury Ambulance services responding quickly to the Southbury Police 911 dispatchers, providing on scene care and efficient transport to local area hospitals. In 2023, SAA has responded to seven cardiac arrests, saving lives. The SAA President has acknowledged all crew persons providing these lifesaving measures.   Pictured are Bob Murray, James Santiago, Jack Begley, Amber Donahue, a few EMS responders who have performed CPR saves. In addition, acknowledgment is extended to first responders Officer Marrone , Officer Volpe, Nick  Desmarias, Davelyn Natal-Thillet, Juan Samuel-Constanzo, Ryan Zimmerman, Kevin Dombroski, Denise Forgione, Andres Selgado, Natalie Iwaszkiewicz , Kyle Leake, Tyler Reginatto, Dave  Desmarias, Sammi Olah, Scott Thompson, Caitlyn Parker, Dot Libonati.  SAA is dedicated to maintaining Southbury as a HEARTsafe community. The importance of and necessity for EMS may not cross the minds of many, but please know Southbury EMS is here for you when you need us.
