SOUTHBURY-
The Southbury Ambulance Association has awarded academic scholarships
to four of its staff for the fall 2006 semester.
The scholarship
recipients are Denise Canale, Shayna Cieply, Rachel Kresina
and Melanie Belec.
Ms. Canale
is pursuing a master's degree in public administration-healthcare
management from Keller Graduate School. She is a 911 dispatcher
for the town and the quality assurance officer for Southbury
Ambulance Association.
Ms. Cieply
will enter her senior year at DeSales University in the fall,
where she is majoring in biology. She plans to pursue a career
in either nursing or as a physician's assistant.
Ms. Kresina
is currently a student at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
She has been accepted into the registered nurse degree program
and is looking forward to beginning nursing classes in the fall.
Ms. Belec
will be entering her sophomore year at Western Connecticut State
University in September and has been accepted into the bachelor's
of science in nursing program.
