My name is Casey Foster and my interest in EMS began in 2007 during my sophomore year when I saw a poster for Greg Skelly’s MRT – now called EMR (First Responder) class at Pomperaug High School. After completing his class, I joined the Southbury Ambulance Association (SAA) and have been a volunteer ever since. I joined SAA not only for its numerous opportunities but also to be of assistance to my community. Today I am a certified EMT and an undergraduate student at The University of Tampa where I am pursuing a degree in Public Health. The experience that I have gained in the medical field from my time at SAA has been invaluable in both my life and studies. Being a SAA volunteer is indeed a rewarding experience and it is a privilege to be able to serve the people of Southbury.
